Art Conference 2008 Involves Charleston Area Home Furnishings Retailers

July 30, 2008 - Accessories Resource Team, the decorative accessory industry trade association, will hold its annual conference this summer August 21-24 at Charleston Place in Charleston, SC. ART Conference is known for the specialized programming that focuses on design, trends, business topics and hands on activities that inspire and motivate the accessory industry attendees.
The close proximity of such great retail to the conference hotel in Charleston is too good an opportunity to pass up. This year our team activity and competition will be a merchandising and marketing workshop specifically for four Charleston retail stores. Attendees will be divided into four or five two part teams of merchandisers and marketers. The merchandisers will be dispatched to the stores to create a window display for the store using only the stock available on the floor. The marketers will prepare a marketing or event plan specifically devised for the store which will be made available to the retailers after a group presentation.

The merchandising teams will be captained by award winning designers from the home furnishing industry. This make-over exercise is exclusive to ART Conference within the furnishings industry and adds a competitive component to the learning experience.
